Small changes make a big difference
When I first admitted I liked the rustic look in my home I couldn’t go full force all at once & I have still not gone full force. I think it’s best when you get that feeling that you need a change, to make small changes at first. You’ll find that as you make small changes, you’ll notice much more potential for your room or space you are decorating. If you add the wrong color on your walls it’s not easy to change. If you change out your old furniture set for a new “rustic set” & decide it’s too much, then what? It’s not that easy to change. I tell people all the time….”ya, that picture in that magazine looks great, but will it fit into your lifestyle & space”? To make sure you are not disappointed in your choice start small with western pillows, rustic signs, horse decor such as cast iron horse shoe hangers or door knockers. Dress up your windows with a rustic drape or valance. Rugs make a big difference as well as wall decor.
Do some shopping around first for small things. If it really fits & you find you want to go “all the way” then start to change out a few pieces of furniture. Start with end tables, coffee tables, a small breakfast bar etc. There are a lot of great products & ideas out there. Don’t get overwhelmed with the whole “big picture make over” to begin with.
